Cara Powell - Senior Employment Specialist

I have worked for Enable for over 10 years and have been involved in supported employment since 2007. My earlier roles focused on supporting people through DWP funded contracts, and since 2022 I have been working with students on the Supported Internship Programme.

I really enjoy working on the Supported Internship Programme as it allows me to support young people at a key stage in their lives. I find it incredibly rewarding to work alongside students, helping them build confidence, develop workplace skills, and achieve things they may not have thought possible. Seeing students grow, succeed, and move closer to paid employment is the most motivating part of my role.

Outside of work, I enjoy holidays, theme parks, and getting out for walks. I value spending time with my family and unwinding with chocolate and reality TV, proving that balance in life is very important!
