Matt Newton - Team Leader (Connect to Work & Disabilities Team)
Hello, my name's Matt and I am the Senior Team Lead for our Shropshire and Telford SMI contract. I have been working for Enable since 2014. In this time, I have gained experience working on several different projects, with the implementation of our Connect to Work and IPS Drugs & Alcohol contracts.
In my current role as the IPS Senior Team Lead for the SMI service across Shropshire and Telford. I support and develop our Senior Employment Specialists, helping them deliver high‑quality, person‑centred employment support. I work closely with our mental health teams and community partners, keep the service running smoothly, and focus on continuous improvement so people get the best support possible
Outside of work, I love to spend my time with my wife and daughter and when I get the chance, I'm out playing golf with friends. I’ve always had a keen interest in cooking and help a friend with his street food company, when I can. Over the last few years, I have become slightly obsessed with cooking outdoors and have built my own BBQ smoker. Now I have plans to build a fully functioning outdoor kitchen for my BBQ's and pizza oven.
