Ruth Davies - IPS Employment Manager

Hi, I’m Ruth. I first started working at Enable in 2010 when I joined as a Job Coach. Prior to this I worked in Human Resources - I wanted to try something new where I could use my HR skills in a different setting. 

Within a year of starting, an opportunity arose with the Enable mental health team to help set up a new IPS (Individual Placement & Support) service in Telford. From here I was able to expand my experience and get involved in the mobilisation of several different services.  

My current role at Enable is IPS Employment Manager – I oversee Enable’s IPS provision. IPS has grown in recognition in the 10+ years that I have been involved and is being expanded to benefit more and more customer groups. 

I feel privileged to work for Enable; we really are in the business of changing people’s lives. The work is interesting and challenging with lots of variety.  

When I’m not at work I love to be outdoors – walking and sometimes swimming. I also like to play the piano loudly (great for stress relief) and read quietly. My latest hobby is weight lifting!
