Enable lands at Cosford Air Show

Sunday was an excellent day for Enable as our staff attended the most popular air show in the Midlands. We joined other leading armed forces charities and local organisations at Cosford Air Show to share the message of their latest project.

We have partnered up with Walking with the Wounded to deliver their new veterans project. The project is designed to help veterans gain the skills and qualifications necessary to develop new careers outside the military, re-integrate into society and provide long-term security for themselves and their families. We are a Centre of Excellence in Individualised Placement and Support (IPS), recognised by the Centre for mental Health – this project is the first of its kind to apply the methods of IPS when supporting veterans into employment.

Cosford Air Show proved to be a great success, welcoming thousands of visitors. Squadron Leader Chris Wilson, media officer for RAF Cosford and the air show, said it was a “very successful” event.

“It’s important that we show the public what their air force does for them,” he said.

Enable Employment officer, Chris Carlisle said: β€œIt was a great day and it was brilliant to see how many organisations were interested in the project and keen to help in whatever way they could.”
