What support do you receive through this service?
A Job Coach is typically allocated to someone at the start of their job or work trial. They will help with on-site training and ensure that information is presented to the individual in a format that they are able to understand and refer to.
Job Coaches assist with many aspects of our employment services, including helping the individual to build their skills for the job role and breaking tasks down into manageable bite-sized chunks. Job Coaches offer clients a trustworthy person to share any problems with and receive guidance from, with the knowledge that they are looking out for their best interests, health and wellbeing.

What are the benefits from this service?
Strengthening the link between the employer and employee a Job Coach provides valuable insight, ensuring any concerns from either party are addressed quickly and efficiently.
Job Coaches can benefit the employer greatly by helping to handle difficult situations, even when they are challenging to approach. This can include the coordination of monthly or weekly progress reviews between the employer and employee.
Job coaches are also able to provide a range of training courses to employers for their staff. By carrying out disability awareness courses, companies can be supported in developing strategies relating to disability in the workplace.
How frequently the Job Coach is needed is agreed between the individual and the employer. If there are workplace changes, a Job Coach can be reallocated if appropriate.
What is the referral criteria for this service?
You may be eligible for Job Coach support if you have an EHCP. Job Coaches are allocated through Access to Work funding. Please speak to your Employment Officer for more information about this process.
